Wind Program Coordinator

Since 1991, GLREA, a 501c3 non-profit, has been working in Michigan to educate professionals, decision makers, and residents about the benefits and practices of sustainable energy use.  GLREA's mission is to increase the mainstream use of renewable energy technologies and sustainable energy practices. GLREA promotes a team working environment.  GLREA leads the training and educating in Michigan’s advancement towards sustainable energy use.  GLREA hosts the Annual Michigan Energy Fair.  

Job Title:  Wind Program Coordinator

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for planning and executing GLREA's Michigan Wind Energy Plan.  Responsibilities include maintaining the GLREA Wind Plan, conducting wind zoning presentations to local townships and county decision makers, monitoring wind energy zoning language, working on the 2009 Michigan Wind Conference, and maintaining and developing relationships in the wind industry.  This is a grant-funded and limited term full-time position; an extension beyond one year is contingent on future funding status. 

Salary:
  Salary will be commensurate to one's experience.  GLREA offers healthcare and dental benefits. 

Requirements:
  This position will require travel in state, some evening hours and some weekend work. 

Responsibilities:


·          Developing program action plans
·          Implementing program plans
·          Marketing Events
·          Overseeing day-to-day program operations
·          Coordinating efforts with other partner organizations
·          Operating programs within the program budget
·          Recruiting partners for program delivery
·          Conducting evaluation of programs
·          Reporting to the executive director

Desired Qualifications:

-           A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
-           Demonstrated experience in nonprofit programming.
-           Fundraising Experience a plus
-           Some Financial management.
-           Demonstrated organizing and communication skills.
-           Skills in establishing priorities.
-           Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to coordinate with others.
-           Strong writing and oral communication skills.
-           Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, email, Internet and experience with Microsoft Publisher a plus.
-           Some experience in working on energy issues, preferred.
-           Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
