RENEWABLE
ENERGY SYSTEM REGISTRY II
GLREA
has conducted a second survey of renewable energy suppliers
to identify the number and types of renewable systems currently
selling in Michigan. To accomplish this task, GLREA again
surveyed sixteen renewable energy suppliers that sell systems
in Michigan. We asked the dealers to identify the quantity
and size of the systems that they sold in the state in 2002.
Seven respondents (44%) completed this year's Renewable
Energy System Survey. The information received indicates
that the equipment types sold in Michigan in 2002 as shown
on the following table:

Based
on the findings from the surveys the most common solar energy
system application appears to be Solar Pool Heating, with
Solar Electric systems a distant second.
It appears that fewer systems were installed last year than
in 2001. The fact that there were fewer incentives for smaller
renewable energy installations in 2002 than 2001 may have
influenced this decline.
If
you are a renewable energy technology dealer and would like
to participate in future surveys, please let us know at

input assists GLREA in our efforts to advance renewable
energy in Michigan and may increase the state's ability
to provide incentives.
