Thank you for your interest in being part of the Michigan Sustainable Homes and Business tour! This year's tour will be on Saturday, October 2nd, 2010 from 10am-4pm. Formal registration is closed but spaces may still be available. Please contact the GLREA office for information.

Location Owner Requirements and Expectations

It is our goal to make the homeowner's experience with the Tour as comfortable as possible. To help with this, it can be beneficial to involve your contractors as much as possible in planning and implementation of the tour. GLREA will also be providing information and available to answer questions as necessary.

Building article for Tour book

Purpose:
This year we would like to create a book that people can purchase and keep with information regarding the homes and contractors. This will give a personal touch to the home and allows you the homeowners(s) to share their reasons for choosing to lead a sustainable lifestyle and their experiences with the features in the home. This will hopefully be an extremely valuable component for Tour participants.

Requirements of the location owner:
• Submit an article for the Tour book no later than September 3rd.
• Permission of the GLREA Staff to edit the article as needed

Assist CRC staff with involving the building professionals on Tour day

Purpose:
Involving the professionals that worked to make the home sustainable is integral to giving the participants access to most information possible. In return, the building professionals are able to connect with potential customers.

Requirements of the location owner:
• Include home professional information in the application
• Contact professionals to inform them of the Tour and invite them to take part.
• *GLREA will do this also, but your additional help and support is much appreciated.

Tour day

Purpose:
As a homeowner, to share with Tour participants what you did in your home and help others see what they can do in their own home, from CFL's to solar, that will help lead Michigan towards sustainability.

Requirements of the location owner:
• At least one homeowner is at the home from 10am – 4pm on the day of the Tour
• If possible, involve family and friends in being volunteers in your home!
• Post the ASES Solar Tour sign outside of your home so Tour goers are able to easily recognize it
